Time

With a perceived lack of things to do I designed a bunch of parts that are being laser cut right now. The reality is I have weeks of little things to do on the Rover and need to get back to it. I think all of the big unknowns are known now except the steering...

Here's the transmission crossmember:
My buddy Ben modeled this in SW from my CAD file.

Clean up

While I wait for the new steering setup I'm getting little things wrapped up. I say little but the tend to be pretty time consuming, like most things I guess..

Dashbar to engine cage connects

New straight dash bar. The previous version had a bump to go around the wiper motor but wasn't 100% needed. I moved wiper motor a little and squeezed the new bar in. This will make the dash much cleaner.

I need to make a new shifter, this sits too far back. I also need to fab up a set of twin sticks for the transfer case. Along with some linkage to move those shifter forward 12" or so.

Transmission

Time to bolt everything up.

This is the hole for bellhousing clearance and access I'm going to cut

After

Trans in

With the Inchworm adapter the transfer case clocks up nicely out of the way

Ignore the dimensional lumber, happened to be in reach and just the right size..

The t-case drain plug is the only part below the belly

This is a W59 transmission I bought on accident, the bellhousing does not bolt up to it

You can see the adapter plate and how it clocks the t-case up 10 degrees here

On board air tanks stashed in front of the foot wells. One on each side

Bump stops

My Fox air bumps showed up. It's basically an emulsion shock that is only attached on the frame side.

Rear bumps installed

Front bump location

Sitting on the shock bumps

Too bad it can't sit this low all the time...

More brakes

Pedal assembly is mounted. Still need to fully weld it though. The holes on the back plate will be dimpled when the tooling shows up

This cover is removable to allow access to mounting bolts for the pedals

Steering comes through the square hole. It will snake down past the clutch master on the right side. I'm planning to mount the orbital valve to the frame rail

Brakes

The bulkhead was repaired sometime while the rig was still in the UK. Impressive work...

Brake assembly in all of it's glory

Wilwoods showed up

It's a triple master setup, clutch, front master and rear master

Mocked up
