Started by finishing the de-bracketing of the rear axle. The little tabs are easy compared to spring perches!! Then I tacked on the upper link mount. Looks like it will work out nicely. So then I test fit it and just as the CAD model predicted; at ride height the upper link mount is resting against the bed floor. So out with the bed floor.....
Here you can see the original floor. At some point some an aluminum skin was riveted over the top of this. I assumed it would be rotted and wouldn't you know it!

Holes everywhere!!


With the rivets drilled out the floor was easy to remove. I added a couple of shims under the rear bulkhead to support the weight of the roof.

At least you don't have to crawl under the rig to change the axle lube now..

Here's the bare axle with almost all brackets and tabs removed.
